|Designing||Produce 4 labelled design ideas, which match the brief and specification. Designs will reflect images from the designer research and take into account the consumer.||Produce 4 design ideas, annotate and evaluate the parts, choice of materials, processes and the consumer. Designs will reflect images from the designer research and take into account the design brief and specification.||Produce 4 creative and detailed design ideas. Clear explanations on how designs meet the design brief and specification criteria. Research will be used to develop and explain the design ideas.|
|Development & Modifying||Produce a simple card model to develop a 3D design idea. Use users views to develop the design and explain how improvements could be used to make the mood light insert. Basic understanding of 2D Design.||Develop card models and use ideas from others to improve designs. Evaluate and explain the reasons for the changes and use this to improve the making. Good understanding of 2D Design including knowledge of coloured lines.||Modify card models and making throughout to improve the quality of the mood light insert. Users views considered throughout. Clear explanations of all changes and any problems are recorded. Excellent understanding of 2D Design.|
|Planning||Simple step by step plan of making produced for making the battery holder. Drawings are simple with minimal explanations.||Work from own detailed plan of making for battery holder plus one other element. Modify the making when appropriate and understand the constraints of the materials and manufacture.||Produce at least 2 plans that predict the time needed to carry out the main stages of making. Evidence of adapting the making if necessary and explain the changes made.|
|Making||A mood-light produced with some accuracy that is a reasonable quality and can be used. Product demonstrates a basic understanding of CAD/CAM.||A mood-light produced with some precision that is a good quality. Well assembled and decorated.
