In their History lessons, Year 7 have been channelling their inner medieval stonemasons by building some fantastic and realistic Norman castles.
Each student was given a type of castle to research for their homework, with a focus on specific defensive and offensive design features. The following lesson, students were put into teams and given time to build their castle, with some impressive results!
Each class produced excellent examples of Motte and Baileys, Round and Square Stone Keeps, and Concentric Castles.
The History department was particularly impressed with the students’ efforts with bringing in building materials and the teamwork shown during lessons. Thanks to all the adults at home who helped with hoarding
