Year 12 and 13 A Level Religious Studies students visited Sheffield Cathedral today to attend an event held by The University of Sheffield’s Philosophy Department.
The students had an opportunity to look around the Cathedral itself and then experienced university life as they attended three different lectures and then engaged in seminar discussions led by Philosophy in the City volunteers.
The first lecture compared the Problem of Evil to the Problem of Anomaly, the second lecture questioned whether morality is too demanding on humanity and the third lecture focused on Plato’s Euthyphro dilemma. All three lectures linked directly to their examined courses and provided students with further insight into big philosophical issues.
