Check out what our Key Stage 3 students have been up to in their IT lessons recently.

Year 7

This term Year 7 students have learning applied digital skills by completing a project using Google Apps for Education. Students have been gaining invaluable skills that will prepare them for problem solving in a digital world. Students will be able to apply these skills across all subjects in school and in their everyday life. The project has required
students to use a range of digital tools and skills to plan for a charity music event called WRocks.

Year 8

This term Year 8 students have been learning how to code in Small Basic. The Small Basic language provides students the opportunity to move from block-based coding (Scratch) to text-based coding. Students have been learning the fundamental elements of syntax-based languages in an approachable manner. This experience will give students the skills and confidence to tackle more complex programming languages such as Python. Small Basic is one of the easiests ways to learn code and students can continue to practice coding by using the Small Basic online code editor which can be accessed at: superbasic-v2.azurewebsites.net
