On the 6th November, nine of our Year 10’s will be visiting the Sheffield Crucible to the Maths Inspiration Tour; a programme of interactive Maths lectures, including lectures on the Maths behind the design of rollercoasters and the mathematics used in the incredible technologies that allow us to see inside the human body using imaging. On the 20th November Miss Slack is taking a team of four Year 12 & 13 students to the UKMT Senior Team Challenge at The University of Sheffield. Our team will be competing against other schools and colleges across the UK. Good luck! For more information please visit their website: ukmt.org.uk.
The Year 11 Revision Challenge is now underway, with six weeks until the Mock exams the challenge has daily tasks on MathsWatch to complete, with rewards at the end of each week for those students who stay on track. The challenge has proven extremely successful in previous years, using the principle that revising little and often really does work!
Maths drop-in revision sessions are run by Mr Longley, Mondays 3.10 – 4.00 in IT5. If you have any MathsWatch tasks to complete, or are stuck on any topics, Mr Longley can help!
