European Week of Languages
Monday 16th October 2017

Last week, MFL celebrated the European week of languages and lead the school on everything international, ranging from food, dance to language, and offered a range of events throughout the week at lunchtimes in which many students took part.

Monday was the Spanish and French tasting, where tasty tapas won over French cheese, croissants and pains au chocolat.
47 students attended overall with 18 votes going to the French food and 29 votes for Spanish food, all the students enjoyed getting involved and experiencing new food.

On Wednesday, many students attended the salsa lesson, learned a few basic steps and had a lot of fun.

Thursday, was one of our highlight events with the languages taster lessons, including Greek, Welsh, Italian, Mandarin and German. A lot of students took part and could have basic conversations or use a few key phrases at the end. Well done to everyone who got involved!

Finally, on Friday the European themed bake-off was a huge success with many participants and some absolutely stunning cakes entered. Well done to all the students who took part in the European themed bake off. All the cakes looked absolutely amazing, and tasted delicious! After the tasting and the votes on decoration, here are the winners:

The proud winners of the competition were:

Well done to them and thank you to them and all the other participants!

Some students enjoyed the events so much, they asked if they would take place every week! Until the next week of languages comes around, students can attend the French and Spanish conversation clubs at lunchtime on Tuesday, respectively in Ml3 and ML7.
