Drama students from Year 8 to Year 13 presented scenes and speeches in the A Block Quad this week as part of an open air performance to mark the Shakespeare 400 event.
April 23rd marks 400 years since William Shakespeare’s death, and the extraordinary anniversary is the perfect opportunity for our school to celebrate the work our greatest playwright.
Our open air Shakespeare performances included excerpts from The Tempest, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth, Hamlet and Much Ado About Nothing among others. Staff and students alike enjoyed the chance to sit in the sun and appreciate some fantastic thesping by our actors.
Also this week, students in Years 7, 8 and 9 have worked on flinging their finest Shakespearean insults at one another across the drama studios as part of their special Shakespeare 400 Drama Lessons.
