At Wickersley, we think all students should have the opportunity to learn to code, no matter who they are or where they come from. To support this, Wickersley Code club allows students to explore the world of coding, computers and having fun. We encourage our budding coders to explore and experiment with code and technology, learn at their own pace and share their findings with their peers. Discovering what goes on behind their favourite games and websites can be very exciting and we hope to fascinate our students to explore programming skills and understand how technology works. Hopefully even preparing the next generation of technological experts to take on the Digital world!
The projects are easy to follow step-by-step guides which help children learn Scratch, HTML & CSS and Python by making games, animations, and websites. The projects gradually introduce coding concepts to allow students to develop their knowledge incrementally and we are working to help our students to learn how to build their ideas with code.
Mr Finch will be hosting a coding club for Y7 & Y8 students after school on Mondays in IT3 at 15:30!
