Daniel Conquers 3 Peaks Challenge
School News
Tuesday 21st June 2016

This weekend one of our Year 8 students attempted the three peaks challenge along with some of his family and friends. Daniel attempted the climb with his father who is an ex-student of Wickersley school and also his cousin Joe Davies who has recently left Year 11.

Amazingly they all completed the National Three Peaks Challenge in 26 hours. They began on Saturday at 3:15PM at Ben Nevis with the heat of the sun shining down on all of them.

They began Snowden in Wales at 11:45 with a vicious rain and wind of up to 40MPH!

Although they completed soaking wet and very cold they managed to reach the end.

A big well done and massive praise from mum and dad with dad also commenting on how proud he was of Daniel and what he has achieved!

‘I have completed numerous challenging events in my time, but for Dan, at 11 years of age, to reach the summit of Snowden in horrendous weather conditions after already climbing Ben Nevis & Scafell, and without moaning once, surpasses anything that I have ever done.’

Daniels dad is already planning their next challenge, Kilimanjaro perhaps??

We congratulate Daniel and his family and friends on their tremendous achievement and hope to hear about their next adventure!!
