Year 7 student Grace Betts has had 13 and a half inches chopped off her hair for The Princess Trust…
Last year my Y11 Textile students completed the ‘Dress A Girl Around the World’ project. This involved designing and making dresses to be sent out to those in poverty in the developing world as part of a UK nationwide charity campaign. I was lucky enough to complete some volunteering in Africa over the summer and took the dresses and shorts with me to donate.
On Friday 4th November Miss Wainwright heard back from the charity:
“Last weekend the staff and volunteers from African Impact took a trip to Kitenden, a Maasai village sandwiched between Amboseli National Park and the magnificent Mt Kilimanjaro. The volunteers utilized the visit to donate the handmade dresses and shorts made by our wonderful students at Wickersley.”
