Important Y11 & Y13 Exam Information
School News
Friday 3rd April 2020

Dear Year 11 and Year 13 students,

We have just received information from OFQUAL, the body which regulates public examinations and grading, about how you will be awarded your grades for the GCSE and A level courses you have been studying. Please see the attached letter.

In short, the school has been asked to submit predicted grades for each student in each course, and also to rank order, from highest to lowest, the performance of all students at the school within each subject.

These grades will be calculated using all available evidence, and may well need to be backed up by further evidence.

I’d like to draw particular attention to the following from OFQUAL’s letter:

Can I see the grades my school/college submits for me? No, this information will be confidential. Please don’t ask your teachers, or anyone else at your school or college, to tell you the grades they will be sending to the exam boards or where they have placed you in the order of students; they will not be allowed to share this with you.

Please be assured that the process is designed to be fair to everyone involved, and the aim is to ensure that you as candidates are not disadvantaged in any way by the current circumstances.

I hope that you are all keeping safe and well.

Best wishes

Mrs Renavent

Headteacher
