Rotherham Deaf Connections would like to thank Abby Brown Year 12 for the amazing help and support she has shown towards the new club for deaf children and their families. The club has been created to help young deaf children to build new friendships, grow confidence and develop their self-identity in a deaf world, their first opening event was held last Saturday.
Abby Brown is a talented, independent young deaf girl, her fantastic skills in sign language, deaf awareness and childcare really helped make the first event a success! She volunteered to run an arts and crafts table for the children to enjoy on the day. Thanks to Abby the young children were able to communicate and access this activity through British Sign Language. This was a really special touch and put a huge smile on many of the children’s faces!
Abby gave up her own time on a Saturday afternoon to contribute to making our first event such a huge success. She was polite, helpful and thoughtful and even kindly offered her time to help again at future events!
Once again a huge thank you and well done to Abby Brown for Alexa Harrison and everyone at Wickersley School and Sports College.
