On Thursday 8th March Wickersley hosted the first ever Rotherham Schools Girls Football Cup Tournament coinciding, quite aptly, with International Womens Day. The event involved ten Rotherham Schools, 15 squads and over 160 girls playing competitive football across Year 7-11.
Students in Year 12 and Year 13 visited the Buddhist Centre in Sheffield on Monday. They had the opportunity to examine artwork on the life of the Buddha and on the Buddhist teaching of taking refuge. One of the artefacts they looked at included a demon dagger!
Year 8 historians have been putting their creative skills to the test in our lessons on the English Civil War. The students were divided into teams and given a time limit to design and create uniforms for Parliamentarian (Roundhead) and Royalist (Cavalier) Civil War soldiers- with some interesting and impressive results!
