After a week of intensive training, a group of Young Firefighters from Wickersley School & Sports College showcased their newly learnt skills during a pass out parade at Rotherham Fire Station on Friday 18th January.

During the parade, a large crowd of proud family members, Fire Service personnel and local dignitaries, including the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Alan Buckley and Headteacher, Mrs Renavent, looked on as the new Year 9 recruits carried out various practical firefighting demonstrations including challenging ladder climbing and a hose running drill.

The ceremony concluded with an inspection of the parade of young firefighters by Councillor and Deputy Mayor, Alan Buckley and Fire Officer Gary Willoughby, who then went on to present each delegate with a Certificate of Achievement.

The Y9 & Y10 students were a credit to the school and were rightly proud of this magnificent achievement. They are: Billy Sheard, Jordan Wall, Max Hodson, Seb Clark, Charlie Hirst, Leo Preece, Brad Simms, McKenzie Somerset & Michael Nicola.
