Y9 students in Spanish have been learning about different foods and drinks in their lessons. We thought what better way to put this into pratice then to visit La Fiesta a Spanish tapas restaurant in Doncaster.
Students tried a variety of tapas from some very salty olives to spicy chorizo. We then had to choose our favourite tapas which after a very hard decision turned out to be calamares!! One student told the waiter ‘me encantan los calamares porque son deliciosos’.
We then learnt the history about tapas and about the different cities in Spain. Of course we had to name some of the Spanish football teams! The restaurant made sure that the students spoke lots of Spanish and even offered prizes for the most confident speakers although the waiters noticed that our favourite word was ‘gracias.’ We then had the course we had all been saving ourselves up for… Churros con chocolate with some students managing to drink 3 mugs of hot chocolate.
Overall a fantastic afternoon full of Spanish culture!
