Cheerleading World Championships 2015 Berlin
Sport
Friday 27th November 2015

On the 21st and 22nd November, thirteen past and present Wickersley students travelled to Berlin, Germany to represent the UK in the World Cheerleading Championships.

These students, who are part of Trailblazer Allstars, were selected by the UK Cheerleading Association to be part of Team UK alongside athletes from Sparklers and Maximum Cheer. After months of travelling around the UK to train with their new team mates, they competed over two days against the best teams in the world and with amazing success.  They all competed at a Level 6 standard and the Senior All Female Cheerleading Team placed 5th out of 6 teams, the Senior All Female Stunt Group placed 4th out of 14 and the Junior All Female Cheerleading Team placed 2nd out of 4 teams.

“The second place achieved by the Juniors was the first medal that the UK have ever achieved at the World Cheerleading Championships!”

This is an absolutely amazing achievement and they should all be very proud of themselves.  Hopefully this is only the start for these talented young athletes.
