Overview of KS4

Why study Child Development?

This qualification provides the opportunity to gain a vocational qualification in Childcare. It will be of interest to you if you are considering a career with children. It includes the knowledge and understanding of child development and well-being necessary for working with children in a variety of settings.

 

What is this course worth in terms of GCSEs?

This qualification which is worth one GCSE, equivalent grade A* to D.

What will I learn?

During Years 9 and 10 you will study for the CACHE Level 2 award which involves:

Unit 2

 

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is via two internally assessed graded assessment tasks and an externally assessed short answer exam paper. The Award is graded from A* to D.

NB. You will have a maximum of two attempts at this exam paper.

 


Grade Ladders

Grade ladders show the skills/content that a pupil is required to demonstrate to reach each particular grade. These can be used by pupils and parents in targeting what they need to do to make progress in each subject.
