Overview of KS3

Students are introduced to Citizenship Studies in PSHE lessons. These include topics such as; diversity, democracy, crime and punishment, human rights and international issues.

Overview of KS4

Citizenship Studies is about how people take an active part in democratic politics and work together for a better society, locally, nationally and globally.


Students will learn about power, democracy, the operation of government and the legal system, and the role of the UK in the wider world. They will explore and learn about different controversial and topical issues. They will experience taking citizenship action and learn from trying to make a difference themselves.

Grade Ladders

Grade ladders show the skills/content that a pupil is required to demonstrate to reach each particular grade. These can be used by pupils and parents in targeting what they need to do to make progress in each subject.
