A group of students from Y7 and Y9 spent a fantastic day at Springwell Community School in Chesterfield learning about becoming Anti Bullying Ambassadors. They spent the day working alongside students from many other schools and returned with lots of ideas and enthusiasm for developing the program at Wickersley. The program is run by an inspirational young man, Alex Holmes (seen in the photo), for a charity called ‘The Princess Diana Award’ of which prime minster David Cameron is a patron. The program trains young people from primary and secondary schools, all ages across the UK to be anti-bullying ambassadors in their schools and communities. Ultimately these ambassadors help to prevent bullying and ensure everyone feels safe and happy in their school.

Alex started this project after suffering from bullying at school himself, and you can see some of the campaign work and his bullying story in this short video on YouTube:

If you are interested in joining the group please contact Ms Butler in PSHE.
