Effort

On Tuesday 28th January, science and engineering ambassadors from BAE systems and the RAF came to Wickersley to deliver an interactive and enjoyable presentation to Year 7 and 8 students. This involved a variety of demonstrations, including a musical Tesla coil, playing a tune at 500,000 volts!

BAE Systems (one of the largest engineering companies in Britain) and the RAF have developed the Education Programme in response to the Governments acknowledgement that there is already a shortfall of ‘home grown’ scientists and engineers to meet the needs of the country. This presentation was designed to capture the interest of students, and hopefully increase the numbers that take Science and Engineering subjects in the future.
