Chemistry Department celebrates Mole Day
Website Archive
Thursday 25th October 2012

Mole Day is an unofficial holiday celebrated among chemists on October 23, between 6:02 AM and 6:02 PM, making the date 6:02 10/23 in the American style of writing dates. The time and date are derived from Avogadros number which is approximately 6.02×1023, this is the number of particles in one mole of substance.
Mole Day originated in the United States but Wickersley School Chemistry Department joined in the celebrations this year with an organised treasure hunt.[widgetkit id=1837]
