This Saturday, 14 eager Classics students travelled to Oxford to explore the University and the subject of Classics. We had a tour of Magdalen college from some final year degree students, a talk about higher education at Oxford University as well lunch in a Harry Potter style college hall. Finally, we travelled to the state of the art Ioannou School of Classics and Byzantine Studies for a talk about the World of Odysseus from a doctoral student. After this we had a tour of the Ashmolean museum where we were trained in the craft of art history and studied a number of Classics statues. The students were a credit to the school and we all enjoyed the trip. Thanks to Mr Woollard for the excellent minibus driving and even better photos!
