Another successful Exchange has taken place between Wickersley and Sportsjugend-Hohenlohe in
18 German students came to England to take part in a week of sporting and cultural activities in an exchange programme that was in its 29th year.
They stayed with Wickersley students and their families and the week included a trip to Xscape for some sledging and sliding on the indoor snow slope followed by some Cosmic 3D Golf, a trip to Alton Towers, the Aerial Extreme high ropes course and ice skating at iceSheffield, a day trip to York and the York Dungeons and finally some hockey, football, rounders and badminton at school organised by two of the English students, Rosie and Joe Underwood.
The week ended with a farewell party in the Main Hall attended by all the host families.
Miss Jacob would like to say a big thank you to all the families who hosted a German student as well as Mr Mallory, Miss Tattershall and Miss Suter for their help in making the week run so smoothly.
We are looking forward to returning to Öhringen next year for the 30th Exchange!
