Monday 23rd March 2015

Saturday 21st March played host to the Rotherham Netball finals day. This year Wickersley qualified in 5 age categories, Year 7,8,9,10 & 6th form.

All students played really well throughout the morning. Unfortunately year 7 weren’t able to make it through to the final round losing to Wath in their semi-final however it was a great experience for them and they will be back next year stronger than ever. The other teams played some very skilful Netball in order to reach the final stages.

Year 8 had a comfortable victory of 32-1 in the final against Wath to retain the titled for the second year running.

Year 9 have won their first ever Rotherham schools championship title with a 16-9 win over Winterhill.

Year 10 had a nail biting route to victory however pulled away in the closing minutes of the game with a win over Aston 21-14. The sixth form squad this year have gone from strength to strength and dominated both skill and fitness wise against Wath to win 50-17.

A great performance by all of our squads, we are very proud of you. Well done!
