On Friday 27th August during the summer holidays 8 of our most sporty students were selected to take part in the Guard of Honour procession accompanied by Mrs Adams and Mr Reynolds.  Students from schools all over the country had to create a banner and line the road from the Olympic village to the stadium for the opening ceremony in order to welcome athletes from all over the world to the London Olympics Games 2012.  Our banner welcomed athletes from our partner country Bangladesh and with the help of the art department was a very colourful piece of art.  The event was a very enjoyable experience for all as we got the opportunity to see the athletes, meet them, shake hands and get their autographs.  Highlights of the evening included shaking hands with Usain Bolt and Tom Daley amongst others.  Well done to the following students from year 9 and 10 for representing their school extremely well throughout;  Mollie Arif, Alex Baldwin, Curtis Brownrigg, Joseph Massingham, Katie Morritt, Robyn Myers, Leo Rowley and Lucy Winch.
