Rotherham Acro Club hosted a gymnastics competition on Sunday to raise funds for Wickersley’s expedition to South Africa which takes place in July. This was an inaugural competition for the club and over 120 gymnasts from Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire competed at a variety of levels. The club has many WSSC pupils and ex pupil, two of whom took responsibility for the competition and are part of the team travelling to South Africa; Dr Vicky Proctor ( the expedition doctor, and club coach), and Georgia-Mae Forster (Y10 pupil and gymnast). The competition raised  a very impressive £2300 towards the purchase of vital equipment needed to  carry out the rainwater harvesting project for the Port Elizabeth community. Huge thanks must go to the club for supporting this cause and to the club volunteers and South Africa parents for their support.
