It’s never too early to start exploring your future career. Last week, Year 10 students enjoyed a trip to a local vocational college to discover the courses on offer and the careers they could lead to.

The day was packed with ‘hands on’ activities in a variety of subjects/sectors, including: Public Services; Construction; Hair&Beauty & Motorvehicle Engineering.

Year 9 students have just returned from a morning at the New York Stadium. This local footballing landmark hosted a careers fair for schools, with a variety of companies and organisations in attendance. It was a fact finding mission, with the aim that even if you feel you are certain you know what you would like to do, it’s always a good idea to explore all possibilities, so your final decision will be as informed as possible.
The students had the opportunity to meet lots of employers and find out more about the various routes they could follow once they finish their GCSEs. The students conducted themselves excellently, asking lots of questions and finding out information. One employer commented [about our students], that it was ‘good to see students with ideas and aspirations for the future.’ From Marine Biologists, IT consultants to budding entrepreneurs (house renovations!) our students enjoyed talking about and exploring what the future could look like for them.
