This weekend was the UK indoor championships in Sheffield where Kristie Edwards took part in the 60m and 200m.
Day 1: Kristie ran the 60m run and ran 3 PBs one after the other, running 7.52 in the heats, 7,51 in the semi-final then going on to break the 7.50 barrier and run 7.49. Kristie then finished 3rd in the whole country beating her own club record and the only under20 Yorkshire woman to ever run under 7.52.
Day 2: Kristie ran the 200m, she ran 24.25 in the semi-final to make it easily to the final where she faced the top 200m runners in the country, Kristie stayed calm and now has the official title of UK U20 INDOOR 200M CHAMPION.
As a result she has been asked to represent England in the 60m and 200m. Congratulations Kristie we are all very proud of you.
Leo Rowley (Yr11) also performed really well in the same competition. Leo was competing in the U17 Shot putt event and finished 3rd in the U17 age group.
