Last weekend was the Commsport open meeting at EIS, sheffield, where it was Kristie’s first race of the 2015 season and under the new supervision of a new coach. Kristie competed in the 60m and 200m, where she was lined up against more senior athletes.

Within her race was 29 year old GB and England commonwealth athlete Louise Bloor. Kristie ran a long side her, head to head until the finish line, this is a great achievement and proves how far Kristie has come in recent months. This motivation resulted in Kristie running a new life time best of 7.59 seconds, from 7.71 where she broke the Sheffield Athletics club record. Kristie then went to run the 200m, where she clocked a massive indoor pb of 24.24, equaling her outdoor pb as well, also making 0.01seconds behind Jessica ennis-hills’ record.

After this weekend she is now ranked no1 in the UK for the 60m and has been selected for team GB relay squad trials, and invited to the UK senior championships later on in Febuary. We wish Kristie luck when she goes to race at the northern indoor championships in 2 weeks time.
