On Thursday 3rd May our Y11 students took part in the Rotherham Y11 Rounders tournament played at Wickersley School & Sports College. There were two sections totalling nine teams from across the Rotherham schools. Wickersley finished top of their section by beating Wath, Wales and Oakwood and therefore securing their place in the final.

Dinnington finished top in their section by beating Rawmarsh, St Bernards, Aston and Clifton. The final was closely fought between Dinnington and Wickersley. Dinnington batted first and scored 6 ½ rounders. Wickersley then went in to bat and started off with a solid ½ rounder from Rebecca Lamb. This was followed up by a full rounder from Francesca Edwards. The game was looking promising from the start. Dinnington tightened up their fielding but Wickersley gradually wore them down by regular ½ and full rounders being scored. Katie Vardy secured the last rounder for Wickersley to win the game by scoring a total of 7 rounders. A big congratulations must go to all students involved and a personal thank you from Mrs Graham for being a great team to work with over the years. Well done girls!
