On Friday 5th September, 63 of the Wickersley Wonders cheerleaders performed at the UK School Games in Manchester.

At the event, the best school-aged performers represent their country by competing in a variety of sports.  Although cheerleading is not yet one of the sports represented at the UK School Games, Wickersley Wonders were asked to support the Wheelchair Basketball and represent cheerleading for the UK Cheerleading Association.

The girls did an absolutely brilliant job by performing faultless routines at quarter times, half times and time outs during two games.  They wowed the crowds with dance, stunts and tumbling and we were inundated with comments of praise from spectators, Wheelchair Basketball officials and School Games staff.  A number of the cheerleaders were even asked for autographs!

It was a real honour to asked to perform at the event and the cheerleaders consistently demonstrated impeccable behaviour as well as high quality performances all day.  They were a real credit to Wickersley and did an excellent job in showing the public what cheerleading is really about.  Well done girls!
