Staff within the Music Department have enjoyed introducing our new Year 7s to Boomwhackers this half term. Students have spent time developing their knowledge of rhythm, pitch, music notation as well as improving their performance skills and confidence in working together as a team. Developed back in 1995 by music inventor Craig Ramsell, Boomwhackers provide a fun, interactive and hands-on way for students to improve their music making and have been a definite ‘hit’ with whole class performances of songs such as How far I’ll Go (Moana) and the theme from Pirates of the Caribbean!
