Laura’s Singing Success

Laura Folkes in Y10 has had a very busy summer where she has successfully undertaken her Grade 5 Pop Vocal exam and was awarded a Distinction. She performed 4 songs and discussed musical details clearly to the examiner.

Laura also performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for a week during the summer as a vocal accompaniment to the Viking dramatic production of ‘Glister’. Some feedback we received was that she has an amazing voice!
On her return from Edinburgh, she was asked to sing at the Rotherham Show on the Rockingham Stage and then again on the Rhythms of Rotherham stage in Clifton Park. With 2 x 30 minute sets, she performed 7 songs on each stage. Following this, the radio station, RB1 Radio, interviewed her, live!
She has plans for other performances in the coming months too.
Well done Laura, we are so proud of you!
