Students from Year 10 & 11 had the opportunity to experience a spectacular concert performed by the world famous Halle Orchestra at The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester.
‘The Orchestra Through the Ages’ concert took students on a guided tour of music from the Renaissance to the twenty-first century. Featuring a number of orchestral pieces from the GCSE music syllabus, the concert demonstrated the development of the symphony orchestra, with a brief history and musical analysis of some key pieces.
For many, this was their first experience of hearing the electrifying and colossal sound of a full symphony orchestra, one we are sure they will never forget.
