Y10 Separate Physics students took part in the Experimental Project from the British Physics Olympiad earlier in the year. The best projects were selected and sent to the British Physics Olympiad to be officially judged.
Freya, Elucia, and Amy were invited to The Royal Society in London, where Freya and Amy were awarded a Silver Award by Dr Gareth Conduit from the University of Cambridge.
Freya and Amy had the opportunity to speak to other like-minded physics students from across the country, as well as hear from academics from University of Oxford, University of Cambridge and National Physical Laboratory.
The afternoon ended with a lecture called “Nano Comes to Life” by Professor Sonia Contera, a Professor of Biological Physics at the University of Oxford.
We are incredibly proud of these students, and are delighted that their hard work has been recognised by the British Physics Olympiad.
