In May, Y10 Physics students were given the opportunity to take part in the Junior Physics Challenge from the British Physics Olympiad.
The Junior Physics Challenge is an online competition designed to engage and challenge students of all abilities by offering them a range of problems to solve. Although most of the questions are based around the current GCSE curriculum, students were able to gain more marks if they had a general knowledge in physics as well as taking a keen interest in practical work in lessons. The key aim is that students enjoy taking part and are encouraged to do more physics.
Our students were competing against more than 12 000 Physics students from across the country, and they certainly did us proud.
All students did well and managed to achieve at least a Bronze Award, with the following students pushing even further to achieve a Silver Award: Layton, Alfie, Isaac, Charlie, Mustafa, Daniel, Fearne, Libby, Alyvia, Salah, Saif, and Evie.
The following students did incredibly well, putting themselves amongst the best in the country and achieving Gold Awards: Kian, Samuel, Viktor, Yahya, and Reuben.
We are incredibly proud of all our students for taking part and challenging themselves to achieve their very best!
