On Thursday 3rd July, students from Years 7 to 10 proudly represented Wickersley School at the Rotherham Rounders Finals, held at Rawmarsh Community School. The event brought together schools from across the Wickersley Partnership Trust, and it was fantastic to see our Trust schools competing, supporting one another, and celebrating student success.
Rawmarsh hosted the finals brilliantly, and the WPT Media Team were on hand to capture the action throughout the event.
- Year 7
Year 7 faced a strong Wales side in their semi-final and, despite a solid performance, just missed out on a place in the final. A fantastic effort from the team – well done!
- Year 8
Our Year 8 team took on Aston in the semi-final, securing a place in the final with a 5½-3½ win, thanks to excellent teamwork and skill. In a close and competitive final against Wales, they narrowly missed out, finishing as runners-up. Special mention to Mia L, Isla, Ella, Mia T, Caitlin, and Emmeline for their outstanding contributions.
- Year 9
The Year 9 girls stormed through the tournament with style and confidence. After overcoming Wales in the semi-final, they faced Aston in a thrilling final – clinching the win 6-5 and being crowned Rotherham Champions! A huge congratulations to Erin, Brooke, Evie, Frankie, Eva, Arabelle, Fran, Kyrah, Lia, Sienne, and Tyler for an incredible performance.
- Year 10
Year 10 were dominant throughout the evening, beating Wath 10½–2 in the semi-final and Rawmarsh 6½–3 in the final.
