This week, 65 Year 9 students enjoyed a joint History and RE trip to the National Holocaust Centre and Museum, bringing their classroom learning to life.
Nicola led an engaging interactive iPad session, allowing students to explore artefacts and gain a deeper understanding of the history. This was complemented by discussions around the theme of responsibility, with clear links to how these lessons continue to affect us today.
The highlight of the day was hearing from Martin, a Holocaust survivor. His testimony was truly incredible, and our students had the rare opportunity to ask questions and learn directly from someone who experienced history first-hand – a privilege that few people ever have.
Later this year, Year 10 students will also have the chance to explore the Holocaust and survivor testimonies as part of their RE entitlement curriculum.
