Y9 London Drama Trip

As part of Wickersley Partnership Trust’s Enrichment Promise, Y9 Drama students from WSSC spent two fantastic days in London, taking part in a range of cultural and educational experiences.

During the trip, students immersed themselves in professional theatre, watching two West End productions: My Neighbour Totoro and the new Disney musical Hercules. Both performances offered valuable insight into staging, performance, and production at the highest level.

Students also participated in a practical acting workshop led by a professional performer from Hercules. This gave them the opportunity to develop their skills, explore performance techniques, and gain a better understanding of working in the industry.

The group toured the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, London’s largest and oldest theatre, where they learned about its rich history, the productions staged there, and the royal rivalry that shaped its story. They even heard a few backstage ghost tales along the way.

Well done Y9, you represented the school brilliantly, and thank you to the staff who organised and supported the residential!
