The WPT Young Musician of the Year 2026 competition took place at RCS last Wednesday and Thursday, celebrating the incredible talent and dedication of young performers from across the Trust. Wickersley School & Sports College had over 30 entries in the competition, with an impressive 23 students progressing through to the finals. WSSC was proudly represented in both the Vocalist and Instrumentalist Finals, where pupils showcased exceptional musicianship across a wide range of musical genres.
We are delighted to celebrate the success of Cameron, who was crowned the overall winner for his outstanding drum performance. Carson also achieved fantastic success by winning the Intermediate category on piano, while James won the Beginners category on violin. A huge well done to all students who took part and represented the school so brilliantly!
