Wickersley student, James, recently represented the MCC State Schools XI on 14th July – a fantastic experience and a proud moment for both James and the school.
James was one of only two 16-year-olds selected to play, with the rest of the players aged 18, and was the sole representative from the North of England. Batting at number 5, he scored an impressive 21 runs from 21 balls, demonstrating confidence and skill. He also took up his usual role as wicketkeeper, delivering a strong performance behind the stumps.
James’ selection and performance reflect his talent and dedication to the sport. It was a real honour for him to represent Wickersley on such a national stage, and we’re incredibly proud of his achievement.
Well done, James!
