Our Year 12 Economics students have successfully submitted their entries to the prestigious John Locke Institute Global Essay Competition 2026.
The competition challenges students to deepen their subject knowledge, develop their academic writing skills, and construct well-reasoned arguments supported by research and evidence. Entries are assessed by leading academics from world-renowned universities, including Oxford, Harvard, and Princeton.
This year, our students tackled a range of challenging and thought-provoking questions. Harshini and Haidar explored whether Jeff Bezos became wealthy at the expense of his customers or employees. Lola investigated which unintended consequence has been the most devastating and why it was not predicted. Charlie examined whether society should fear a future without cash.
We are incredibly proud of the intellectual curiosity, ambition, and dedication shown by all of our students throughout this process. Taking part in such a prestigious international competition is a fantastic achievement in itself, and we wish them the very best of luck with their entries.
