On Friday 10th July, Y12 History students visited the University of Leeds to take part in a series of academic workshops. Led by Dr Joe Stanley, a former WSSC student, the sessions focused on academic writing, using university libraries, and working with archive materials. Students also had the unique opportunity to study items from the University’s Special Collections, including a 15th-century copy of the Malleus Maleficarum, which links directly to some of their NEA coursework on the European witch trials.
The visit also included a campus tour and a Q&A session with student ambassadors, giving students a valuable insight into university life. It was an engaging and inspiring day, leaving our students feeling motivated and excited to continue their coursework.
