This term, Y8 visited the Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Sikh Temple in Sheffield as part of their RE entitlement curriculum, alongside an Urban Geography fieldwork visit along the River Don.
At the Gurdwara, students took part in a guided tour, building on their learning about Sikhism. The experience helped them challenge misconceptions, develop empathy and understanding, and explore the importance of mutual respect and tolerance. Students then put their Geography skills into practice along the River Don, investigating environmental quality, sustainability and Sheffield’s changing urban landscape.
The visit was a fantastic example of the Wickersley Partnership Trust Enrichment Promise, giving students meaningful experiences beyond the classroom and helping them broaden their perspectives.
