On Friday, the prestigious BBC Sheffield Make a Difference Awards took place at the New York Stadium – an evening dedicated to celebrating inspirational individuals and groups who are making a real impact in their communities.
We are incredibly proud that members of the Rotherham Youth Choir and Rotherham Harmony Choir were invited to play such an important role in this special event. Representing our schools and community were Cole (Y13), Saff (Y9), Belle (Y10), and Mrs Pitchford, alongside other staff and choir members.
The group had the honour of welcoming the award winners as they arrived and setting the tone for the evening with an uplifting performance on stage to open the ceremony, creating a truly memorable start to the celebration.
The awards themselves were nothing short of inspiring. From individuals who have dedicated their lives to supporting others, to groups who are making lasting change in their communities, every single winner had a remarkable story to share.
For our students, it was not only an amazing opportunity to perform at such a high-profile event, but also a chance to witness the power of kindness, resilience, and community spirit first-hand. Events like these show the importance of using our talents to inspire others and remind us of the difference we can all make.
We are so proud of our choir members and staff who represented Rotherham so beautifully – both on and off the stage.
