A Level Drama and Theatre London Trip

A-Level Drama and Theatre Studies students recently travelled to London for a two-day theatre experience. The group took part in two practical acting workshops; one at Pineapple Studios with a cast member from Witness for the Prosecution based on the themes of the play and a second one with an RSC actor on the characters dynamics in The Merchant of Venice.

There was also an enjoyable and informative tour of the Globe Theatre, during which the students had the opportunity to learn about the historical context of performing Shakespeare’s plays in the open air space.

The two productions they saw – Come From Away and Witness for the Prosecution – will be analysed by Y12 and Y13 for their written exam and will go on to inform their practical work for Y12’s Component 1.
