On Saturday 3rd February, 13 Wickersley pupils were selected to represent Rotherham in the South Yorkshire Schools Cross Country Championship. It was typical cross country weather with gale force winds and rain but all athletes performed exceptionally well under the awful conditions.
Special congratulations go to Matilda Holmes (2nd), Louis Johnson (8th), Eva Smith (6th), Luke Parker (5th) and George Ellis (7th) who all finished in the top 8 and therefore go through to the next round where they will represent South Yorkshire in the English Schools Cross Country Championships held on Saturday 16th March in Pontefract.
Well done everyone and we wish those selected the very best of luck at the National round.
